Rhino Prime Overview

Stats

• Health: 270 (370 at rank 30)
• Shields: 455 (555 at rank 30)
• Armor: 290
• Energy: 100 (150 at rank 30)

Despite an abysmally low amount of energy, Rhino Prime has some pretty good stats. While his armor may seem too low to be the unkillable Warframe I promised, we’ll increase the number with our build.

Passive

If Rhino were to incur a hard landing, he emits a shockwave dealing 100 damage.

Abilities

Rhino Charge (1st Ability)

Rhino charges forward, dealing damage and ragdolling any enemy in his way. Rhino is immune to damage while charging, and if recast within 1 second after the previous cast, the damage is doubled.

A good CC move to help get out of sticky situations, this ability will play a large role in our build once we add the Ironclad Charge augment mod.

Iron Skin (2nd Ability)

Rhino hardens his skin receiving Overguard, which has its health increased based on Rhino’s total armor. The Overguard is also invulnerable for the first 3 seconds after it has been cast.

The center of this build, Iron Skin, is what’s going to allow us to make Rhino unkillable, as the Overguard mechanic is strong and we have ways of making it stronger.

Roar (3rd Ability)

Rhino lets out a roar that increases the damage output of himself and nearby allies.

A powerful ability, and Rhino’s subsume ability, Roar allows us to push our power strength even further since it is additive with strength-boosting mods like intensify.

Rhino Stomp (4th Ability)

Rhino stomps the ground with incredible strength, dealing Blast damage. After a small delay a second instance of damage is inflicted and any surviving enemies affected are forced into a tumble.

Another good CC move, Rhino Stomp is a good way of giving yourself some breathing room if you’re surrounded. Given our build, however, whether you’re surrounded or not won’t matter.

How to Get Rhino Prime

Unfortunately, like many old Prime Warframes, Rhino Prime is currently vaulted. What this means is that you will have to wait until he’s unvaulted during a Prime Resurgence, or trade for him with other players.

Fortunately, this build still works with regular Rhino since the boost in power from a Prime Warframe isn’t too much.

If you want to get a regular Rhino, you can farm him from the Jackal fight on Fossa, Venus.

Iron Lord Rhino Build

Like I mentioned before, this build focuses on Rhino’s Iron Skin ability, and powering that up so we have ridiculous amounts of Overguard to help us tank any content in the game.

This build will easily get you through endgame and Steelpath content since nothing will be able to stop you.

Mod Choice

The mod choice for this build is as follows:

• Blind Rage: All of Rhino’s abilities scale with Strength, but Iron Skin and Roar in particular are the reasons why we want to get this value as high as possible. More Strength means a higher damage buff from Roar and more Overguard from Iron Skin.
• Transient Fortitude: Same as Blind Rage, we want our Power Strength value as high as possible and we’re not using Duration for anything anyway.
• Umbral Intensify: Same as before, more Strength means better returns from our abilities. The only reason I specify Umbral Intensify and not regular Intensify is because we want the stacking bonus it gets with other Umbral mods.
• Umbral Fiber: Our armor boosts the value of Iron Skin so we grab Umbral Fiber to get it as high as possible. The synergy with Umbral Intensify means we’re getting an even larger boost to our Overguard.
• Primed Flow/Flow: Rhino’s energy pool is incredibly small, and with the Efficiency hit we take from Blind Rage, we’re going to need a nice pool of energy to cast whatever we need to cast. You could technically replace Flow with Streamline, but I prefer having a deeper energy pool.
• Redirection: It may seem weird to jump into increasing Rhino’s shields when we’re mainly focusing on his armor and Overguard, but there’s a Helminth ability that transfers our shield strength to armor strength. And higher armor means a stronger Overguard from Iron Skin.
• Primed Vigor: Same reasoning as Redirection, we want more shield strength to feed into the Helminth ability. The additional health is just a nice bonus.
• Ironclad Charge: An augment mod for Rhino Charge, this mod increases Rhino’s Armor Rating by 50% for 10 seconds for each enemy hit. This means we can potentially get our Armor value to insane levels before casting Iron Skin to make it even stronger.
• Rifle Amp: I choose Rifle Amp as the aura mod for Rhino since it matches the polarity, but with a Forma, you could change it to whatever you like. There’s no specific Aura mod needed to make this work so choose whichever one fits your playstyle/

Arcanes

• Molt Augmented: This Arcane increases your Ability Strength for every kill up to a maximum of 250x. This is an excellent buff to our Ability Strength, and thus our Iron Skin, in endless missions where we’re killing a bunch of enemies.
• Arcane Guardian: On taking damage there’s a chance your Armor will increase by up to +750 for 20 seconds. In those rare situations where your Overguard goes down and you need to recast it, this can provide a sneaky buff to your Iron Skin.

Helminth Abilities

When choosing to replace one of Rhino’s abilities, it is safe to say that Rhino Stomp should get the cut. As great as its CC is, Rhino’s other abilities are instrumental to the build and too good to give up.

• Parasitic Armor (Helminth Level 11): This ability is the reason why we put Shield mods on Rhino. This Helminth Ability sacrifices our Shields to reinforce our Armor for a period of time with a 100% conversion rate. This means the higher our shields the higher armor we get. And the higher the armor we get, the stronger our Iron Skin.
• Larva (Nidus): This ability spawns an infested ball that pulls enemies in, grouping them together. This is perfect for hitting a large group of enemies with Rhino Charge to increase his armor easily.
• Ensnare (Khora): Just like Larva, this ability will help you group enemies up to hit them with Rhino Charge.

Weapons & Gear

For this build, any weapons you can reliably use to kill Steelpath enemies will do. With how tanky Rhino will be, you have a lot of wiggle room to test out new strategies.
