H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Genesis 2: The Evolution of Luxury Watchmaking (2026)

H. Moser & Cie. is shaking up the watch world again! This time, they're unveiling the Streamliner Genesis 2, the next act in their innovative Genesis series. But what makes this watch so special? Let's dive in.

Moser, known for its unconventional approach, has always been a bit of a rebel in the watchmaking world. Remember the Swiss Alp watch, poking fun at smartwatches, or the Swiss Mad watch with its cheese case? These were all statements, and now, Moser is taking on more intellectual pursuits, exploring the intersection of technology and horology. Following the first act, the Endeavour Centre Seconds Genesis of 2022, Moser is now introducing the second act with the Streamliner Genesis 2.

As Moser puts it, the Endeavour Centre Seconds Genesis was more of a declaration of intent than a mere product, an experimental watch that embraced the language of Web3, blockchain technology, and NFTs. The Streamliner Genesis 2, however, is grounded in the physical world, blending several signature Moser elements.

This new timepiece takes the form of the Streamliner, a luxury sports watch family first introduced in 2020. It features the signature smooth, ergonomic steel cushion-shaped case, measuring 40mm in diameter and 10.3mm in height (or 12.1mm with the sapphire crystal), paired with an integrated bracelet. The case is predominantly decorated with vertical brushed finishes and polished bevels. But here's where it gets interesting: the raw, pixellated 3D-printed titanium crown is reminiscent of the first Genesis model. The watch is water-resistant up to 120 meters and aligns with the second-generation Streamliner models introduced in 2024, which feature pared-down dials and a better view of the HMC 201 automatic calibre.

Remember Vantablack? Seven years ago, Moser shocked the watchmaking world with a dial crafted from this darkest material on Earth, capable of absorbing up to 99.965% of radiation. This alien material has also been featured on the Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept and the Streamliner Tourbillon, creating a mesmerizing black hole effect. The Streamliner Genesis 2 dial also features Vantablack, but with a twist. The dial is devoid of indices and logos, with only the hour and minute hands, fitted with a strip of Globolight, suspended over the black void. The hands have jagged, pixellated edges, mirroring the crown's texture.

Turning the watch over reveals the in-house HMC 203 automatic calibre. With partially skeletonised bridges and an openworked 18k gold rotor, more movement parts are visible. The skeletonised bridges have an anthracite finish with Moser's signature double stripes, giving it a contemporary look. The large balance wheel oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, and the barrel delivers a robust 3-day power reserve.

And this is the part most people miss: The Streamliner Genesis 2 is just the second act. The Genesis 3 is planned for release in a year, bringing the story to a close. Only 50 Streamliner Genesis 2 pieces will be available exclusively to owners of the Endeavour Centre Seconds Genesis 1, and another 50 pieces for their friends, retailing for CHF 29,900 (excluding tax).

What do you think of Moser's innovative approach? Do you appreciate their bold moves, or do you prefer more traditional watch designs? Let us know in the comments!
