A Bold Dance Revelation: Akshaye Khanna Didn’t Plan His Dhurandhar Entry Move — He Freestyled On Set
The buzz online is about Akshaye Khanna’s high-octane entrance in Dhurandhar, lighted by the track FA9LA. In the film, he portrays Rehman Dakait alongside a strong ensemble that includes Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and R. Madhavan.
Contrary to what fans might assume, Akshaye’s viral dance moment wasn’t the result of a pre-planned routine. It happened spontaneously during filming, according to co-star Danish Pandor, who shared the story with Filmygyan.
During the Leh Ladakh shoot, Vijay Ganguly was directing the song’s choreography. The cast listened to FA9LA and were impressed by its energy. As Aditya Dhar explained the shot to Akshaye, the plan was still unclear. Then Akshaye casually asked, “Can I dance?”, and Aditya replied, “Do whatever you like.”
What followed was a take in which Akshaye stepped into the frame, watched his fellow actors’ moves, and launched into his own improvised routine. The result stunned everyone on set: there was no formal choreography for him, yet the footage looked powerful and captivating. Danish praised Akshaye’s spontaneity, saying everyone was amazed and the audience response was electric.
Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, released on December 5 and quickly gained momentum. Within four days, the film had crossed roughly ₹126 crore in global box office, signaling its entry into the coveted ₹100 crore club.
